The knit is a super soft blend of wool, alpaca and nylon. The alpaca fibers are a longer and catch the light in the photos because of the flash. They're less noticeable in person

The dress is stretchy and structured~there's elastic at the back of the waistband for shaping. The knit is sturdy enough for a spanx effect but not suffocating
